Maybe this year will be the year that schools will change for learners.
- Maybe this year, teachers will look at their practice under a critical eye and start thinking about the 7 principles of learning.
- Maybe they will start preparing their learners for the future instead of just preparing them for exams.
- Maybe they will start using the digital tools instead of locking them away for the "best" time.
- Maybe they will learn how to thrive online and teach their learners the same.
- Maybe they will win the tug of war against assessment driven overlords.
- Maybe they will grow through sharing their practice, their resources and their learners.
- Maybe they will start to use tweeting as a teaching and learning tool.
- Maybe they will develop their digital fluency and that of their learners.
- Maybe they will break away from the old ways and embrace change.
- Maybe they will embrace the concept of collaboration within their COLs.
- Maybe they will understand why learners do learn.
- Maybe they will embrace digital technologies as part of the way we live and learn.
- Maybe they will stop baffling me.
- Maybe they will look at a different way to learn about ANZAC
- Maybe they will start experimenting using different digital tools.
- Maybe they will look at alternative ways of connecting with whanau.
- Maybe they will teach children how to be good digital citizens instead of blocking everything ever.
- Maybe they have moved into the 21st century paradigm of learning.
- Maybe they rose to the challenges of teaching in 2016 and are ready for new ones in 2017.
Maybe. I am full of hope for the new things that I will learn.
